Disaster Aid Australia (DAA) has been in contact with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT) to ascertain the eligibility of those countries affected by Irma.

DFAT have advised these counties are eligible to receive Australian Aid:
  • Antigua and Barbuda
  • Dominican Republic
  • Cuba
DAA is briefing DART’s (DAA representatives?) to deploy to Antigua & Barbuda, Dominican Republic, (Cuba subject to Cuban Government approval).  In both countries DAA will be working with local Rotary contacts.

Furthermore, Disaster Aid Australia has had requests and is considering how best we can assist the countries in the Indian Sub Continent affected by floods, countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh and India.

More updates once the DART assessments are to hand.
