In 2021 Rotary will celebrate 100 years in both Australia and New Zealand.

In that time we have definately punched above our weight contributing seven World Presidents to the organisation.

All of whom have contributed to the growth of Rotary and its endeavours, Sir Clem Renouf and his vision for eradication of Polio and Glen Kinross low cost housing being just a couple of examples.

But we live in a changing world and Rotary has to change with it.

it is no secret that our membership has been declining in recent years whilst the average age of Rotarians in the two countries has been increasing.

For some time now we, in District roles, have been looking at things to revitalise our organisation as the one thing that never changes is the need in our communities.

In my club visits I have talked about redistricting and that will occur but at the same time we need to overhaul our organisation structure to be able to handle what will be very large new districts.

With this in mind, we have in place a committee reviewing how the new districts will work, and what we need to do to build Rotary in our area.

We see this as an opportunity to revitalise Rotary in our area and become a model for other countries.

Attached is a report from our Zone Director, Noel Trevaskis, setting out some of the ideas and actions that we will be taking, to build a better more relevant Rotary into our next 100 years.
