Gorgeous Gordon our Leprechaun Golfer, met us all with a friendly smile at the desk this morning.  We were joined by three Rotarians from our Daughter Club, Caloundra Pacific, who willingly explained to us they had been sent on a mission to spy on our Club, and see what a great Club we are.  Thanks for coming gentleman, I hope you were impressed.

Alan's International Toast continued to follow disaster areas of the world.  This week he took us to District 4100, Mexico, which is recovering from a huge earthquake.  We wish all residents a speedy and healthy outcome.
Our Chair for the morning was our profuse photographer and Facebook poster, Les.  True to form, Les, who likes to conduct his own style of meeting, delighted us with his own mix of proceedings.  What Chris thought was a Geiger Counter, turned out to be Les' latest toy, a high tech Selfie Stick.  The results of which have been emailed for you all to see and placed on our website.

A warm welcome goes to Gerry who's back from his time in Darwin and thanks for providing us with an entertaining look at your life during the 3 Minutes on Me Segment. I'm sure there are lot of married men jealous of your situation.  What goes on in Darwin, stays in Darwin (perhaps).

Our Guest Speaker for the morning was Mel Messina, Operations Manager of the Innovations Centre at the University of the Sunshine Coast.  He gave us all some interesting facts about starting a business and how the Centre can help out.

Our Club now officially has a new member.  Recent Paul Harris Fellow recipient, Jim Lombard, proposed by Alan Bethune, was inducted as a member of our Club.  Jim is very familiar to a lot of us through his work with the Men's Shed, which he is still heavily involved with.  In the absence of a lapel pin and name badge, Jim was presented with a spoon, which I know he will treasure dearly.  Seriously, a very warm Rotary welcome to you Jim.  I know you will be a valuable member of our Club and we intend to make sure you enjoy your time in Rotary.

In keeping with the Mental Health theme of our Club's year, RUOK Day is this Thursday 14 September.  Please read the attachment so you can be a part of this special day by starting a conversation if you think someone you know is not OK.

Thank you to all those who attended our Meeting, have a great week and I look forward to seeing you next Tuesday.
