Lord of the Rings Trivia Night

The Rotaract Club of the Sunshine Coast is calling all hobbits, elves, dwarfs and humans for a fun trivia night about the ring to rule them all.

All proceeds will go towards Grow - supporting people with mental illness.

International Toast

In his inimitable fashion, Past District Governor (PDG) and our member Alan Still OAM proposed the International Toast to the Rotary Club of Pago Pago, American Samoa.  Alan found lots of information about the club but did not tell us that their website was out of date.


Visit to DIK

Genta reported that a trip to Donations in Kind (DIK) is planned for 3 June - by bus leaving the Salvation Army depot at 8am for a 9am - 3pm working bee.  DIK is an activity of Rotary Australia World Community Service Limited (RAWCS) and grew out of the compassion and concern of returning overseas volunteers.  This recycling and reuse program, focussing on health & education involves the collection, sorting, packing, dispatch and distribution of donated items to countries in need of these goods.  More information
 

Seafood Dinner

Arnaldo reported that the Seafood Dinner held on 1 April returned a profit of $1,565 thanks to all who attended.
 

Pride of Workmanship Presentation

Bernie announced that a Pride of Workmanship presentation breakfast will be held on Tuesday 30 May

RUSCCF Joint Meeting

The Annual Joint Meeting of the Rotary clubs of the Sunshine Coast at the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) will be held at the USC on 10 May.  The Rotary and University of the Sunshine Coast Community Fund (RUSCCF) is a partnership advancing tertiary education opportunities.
 

The Muster is coming to the Sunshine Coast

Peter reported that Australian Rotary Health's Muster for Mental Health will be have 12 Tours to complete the journey around Australia visiting Rotary Clubs and Regional Towns & Cities to bring focus on the importance of sustaining Mental Health Research especially for young Australian and youth suicide.  Read more here
