As mentioned in the report of last week's meeting here, $6,000 is being donated to the Rotary Club of The Hills-Kellyville's project to provide clean water for nine villages in India.

The Rotary Club of The Hills-Kellyville is in the process of putting together a project to provide clean water for 9 villages in Andra Pradesh at a total cost of USD $52,000.  A Global grant application will be put together in the new Rotary Year, as most districts have already fully pledged this year’s District Designated Funds.  So the funds will be donated to The Rotary Foundation after 1 July for this project.

The club has just fully funded two global grant projects as part of WinS (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Schools).  In Odisha, where this project is being undertaken, no toilet facility exists for girls in 62% of the schools and so girls aren’t able to go to school after puberty.  Thru these two projects the club will be providing 58 schools with segregated toilet facilities with incinerators as well for safe disposal of sanitary pads.

This current Rotary year the Rotary Club of The Hills-Kellyville has worked on Global Grant projects to the value of A$466k of which A$284k came from Our Foundation – The Rotary Foundation.   In addition the club has been involved in other DIK, District Grant and directly supported projects.

The Rotary Club of Caloundra is excited to be partnering with the Rotary Club of The Hills-Kellyville in this new project.
