Next Tuesday's Meeting
The Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (RYPEN) aims to provide young people with the opportunity to develop their potential and self-esteem, provide experiences that will assist them to form their own values and moral standards, and to broaden their cultural, social and academic horizons.  The program pushes students to develop their leadership skills so that they can excel in their field.

Students sponsored to RYPEN are considered to have leadership potential and other positive personal attributes, and to be community-minded  and  actively  involved  in  the  community  or  who  demonstrate  the potential for involvement in community programs.

This year RYPEN was held 12-14 August.

The Rotary Club of Caloundra sponsored Harley Morse to attend RYPEN.  Harley will be telling us of her experience over the RYPEN weekend.
President Peter's Musings
Greeted by the Ian with one "i", Ian Belcher, at the Desk, members and guests arrived for our Meeting for Breakfast.
Special welcome was made by "Gordon our Grumpy Leprechaun", who resided in the Chair for the day, to our Guests for the morning.  Evelyn McCorkell, visiting from the "other" Club, Caloundra Pacific, and our Guest Speaker,  Katie Brown Community Services Manager for Sundale.

Grumpy Gordon controlled proceedings as we would expect someone with his attention to detail and relevant commentary.

Alan Still AOM took us to the Hurricane ravaged District of the Rotary Club of Tampa, Florida, for the International Toast.  Our hearts go out to the many people caught up in this disaster of epic proportions. It is comforting to know that there are fellow Rotary Clubs assisting, providing drinking water and other medical assistance.

11 April 2018 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Charter of the Rotary Club of Komaki - our sister club.

The plan for our members is that we arrive on 10 April and stay two nights home-hosted.  And of course we will attend the Celebration on 11 April.

It is time to finalise our numbers so we can advise the Komaki Club

Please follow this link to RSVP so we can advise the Rotary Club of Komaki to assist their arrangements.

2017 Walk for Mental Health

The second annual walk for Mental Health.  Invite all your friends to participate.  Join in the fun.  Purchase and wear a supporter Tee Shirt ( for sale on the day ).

The walk will commence at 8.00 am from the park area behind the Mooloolaba Surf Club, you can either walk to Alex Headland Surf Club and back – 4 kilometres, or to Maroochydore Surf Club and back – 8 kilometres.

As it is a cluster event we could get a group together to participate (a good chance to invite friends along), and you will have the chance to meet Rotarians from all our cluster clubs.

A sausage sizzle will operate from 7.00 am.  The cost is $25 which includes a T-shirt and a cap.  You can register online or on the day.

Hosted by facebook.com/rotarywalkformentalhealth, & the Rotary Clubs of Mooloolabah & Kawana Waters
