not-for-profit that exists to serve the underprivileged in parts of Africa and Asia by raising funds and sending volunteers to build schools, medical clinics, shelters, and livelihood infrastructure. She completed her university degrees in New Zealand (Victoria University of Wellington) and in Australia (Australian National University). Rizsa currently works for Queensland Health and is also affiliated with University of Queensland as an adjunct research fellow. She loves travelling, theology, photography, classical music, nature, doughnuts, and puppies.

For our weekly meeting on 2 August 2022, Dr Rizsa will be our guest speaker. Dr Rizsa will update us on the Shepherds Arms Chirldrens Home (SACH) in Bohol, Philipppines and also report on the now completed Bakery Project. The Bakery Project.was completed in May 2022 with the support of a Grant from our Rotary District 9920. This is a great opportunity to celebrate the Club's completion of the Bakery Project and also get an update on current and new activities from SACH. |

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Jill Ware, I have lived in Caloundra since 1980. I have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. All living in Caloundra. My working life was with Bank of NSW and Commonwealth. I have always been involved in the Community since moving here, Nursing Mothers Assoc, Childbirth Education, Family Day Care mother, Tuckshop Convenor and Volunteer, Caloundra Kindy, Combined Schools Catering, teaching English to Migrants, I am currently a volunteer with Rosie Street Outreach, Treasurer at Vinnies Family Support Caloundra, and President of Caloundra CWA. My husband Mal and I, both enjoy the retired lifestyle. We have a caravan and regularly go away. He is an avid golf player. |

I farm both European honey bees and Australian native bees. I have a passion for bee hive innovation and technology. The time is right for the industry to innovate and take a different direction in bee hive design. We need to prepare for climate change in order to keep both our honey and native bees safe.

Chris Flavel is a father and husband to 4 active children and an amazing wife, moved from Adelaide in 2020 for greater sunshine and everything that Queensland has to offer. Chris has a broad experience both as a Senior Exercise Physiologist as well as a manager and team leader of a number of organisations, including Avanti Health Centre in Caloundra. Chris enjoys a wide variety of sports, including AFL, Cricket and Field Hockey, and with his energetic personality enjoys educating and helping senior Australians to live a long, healthy and fruitful life. |

Roy started working in the family business as a mail boy when he was 14. After graduating in Accountancy from Queensland University of Technology he started working at Henzells in the property management section before moving into real estate sales. Roy took the helm of the family business in 1984 when his father Bevan died. He was 29-years-old and ran the family business in partnership with his mother Judy Henzell until 1990 when he invited Garry Waters to join as a partner. In 1989, with a friendship with Roy dating back to the early 1970s, Garry joined Henzells to implement the development of Pelican Waters. A year later he became a partner. Judy retired in 1999 leaving Roy and Garry as the Henzells Agency partners. |

Share the Dignity

Ann-Marie Loebel lives in Caloundra and has been involved with Share the Dignity as a volunteer for the past few years, initially in Darwin and now on the Sunshine Coast. Share the Dignity is a charity that works to make a real, on-the-ground difference in the lives of women and girls experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence or doing it tough by distributing sanitary items to those in need and by working to end period poverty in Australia. Ann-Marie’s professional background is in community services, primarily in education and training in disability services. Since retiring, Ann-Marie volunteers with a number of community organisations including Share the Dignity, Boomerang Bags, and at Burnside High with the STEMM program (Supporting Teenagers with Education, Mothering and Mentoring). Ann-Marie is a passionate believer in the power of volunteering to support, connect and contribute to the local community.

Bio After completing her Bachelor of Communication (Honours) last year, Kirsty O’Callaghan commenced her PhD studies at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Her research focuses on ‘The role of gender in effective climate change communication’. Kirsty has also supported the ‘Real Rural’ research projects over the past three years in the position of social media manager and research assistant and participates in numerous USC Student as Partners program opportunities. Before embarking on her degree and subsequent PhD research, Kirsty had two decades of corporate and business experience and continues to be active in her consulting business and several voluntary and pro bono roles.

Scott Breust is a proud “Sunshine Coaster” moving to the Sunshine Coast in 2000 and knew immediately this was the place he would raise his growing family. Starting his career as an licensed electrician he transitioned careers into the family Real Estate business and assisted the family grow the business to the largest Real Estate agency in Wagga Wagga where he developed the business for 19 years. Fast forward to 2000, Scott moved to Mountain Creek and was the marketing Manager for Cadet Training and Employment with 6 offices across the Sunshine Coast. Moving to managing the Hinterland Job Network agency, Scott moved to his passion for business and training and joined the Qld Governments State Development and rolled out a suite of business capability workshops across Sunshine Coast. Scott transitioned his interests and training into advanced manufacturing with the Qld Government and became the first Advanced Manufacturing Advisory Specialist for SEQ North and led many initiatives, benchmarking and connected industry transition towards Industry 4.0. Scott joined Sunshine Coast Council after 12 years with Qld Government and is the Productivity and Industry Advancement specialist for Clean Technologies and Advanced Manufacturing for Councils Economic Development portfolio. In recognition of the need for businesses to become more circular with their resources unwanted and wanted and the opportunities that laid in supporting and embracing circular economy, Scott has introduced the ASPIRE business to business circular economy marketplace platform to the region and will talk about the why, what, when and how. |
