Probably first and foremost is the club's Annual Charity Golf Day on 15 March, which is looming on the horizon. Our Golf Day Committee has worked very hard to make this day a really extra special fundraiser as this will be our last Golf day held at Pelican Waters. So please get behind this project and make it as big as we can. Raffle tickets and monies are to be handed in at this coming Tuesday’s meeting please.

Anna has received a message from ...

Anna has received a message from Haran regarding the bio toilets being established in the slums in India. The first of the 10 toilets was received on 20 February and the project is to be completed by the end of February. Haran has thanked the Rotary Club of Caloundra for its support saying that without the Club's request and support this project could not have been achievable.  See the story here

The Sunshine Coast Photographic Competition is still very much showing interest within the young people of the community and they still have until the end of the month to enter.

Chris is working hard on the All Amenities playground and working with District, the Sunshine Coast Council to obtain funding for this project and also the businesses that build the playground equipment for children with special needs. Chris and I are yet to meet with Mr Alwyn Green the Principal of the Currimundi Special School to try to engage him and the P & C Association in the process. Even though we are able to obtain funding we need to get our thinking caps on regarding fundraising to help pay for this equipment. So come on club members let's get this up and running as quickly as possible and your ideas be it anything may just make a difference in the life of a child with a disability.

A reminder again that our District Conference is being held in Brisbane from the 22-24 March. Please if you can, register it’s free except for the cost is attending the functions, meals and accommodation.

The launching of the Police Officer of the Year will take place on Wednesday 13 March at Sunco Jeep Showroom Maroochydore. A representative of the Club has been invited so I will endeavour to attend.

The Club has agreed to run the raffle for the Rotary & the University of the Sunshine Coast combined meeting to be held on 22 May.  So we need to obtain raffle prizes.  Pam and her team did wonderful work last year so let's see if we can get together some really great prizes again this year.

I wish all members an exceptional couple of weeks and I will have news from the Conference in my next few words.
