First and foremost - congratulations to the Gordon and his Golf Day Committee for a wonderful day.  It was a happy and enjoyable day and many of the participants went all out to make the day an enjoyable one with their costumes and golf carts dressed for the occasion.  All who attended, played and worked made the day very special.  The weather behaved and all the players were in the clubhouse before the heavens opened up.  Great work.  Please take the time to look at the photos and video that Les has produced, it is excellent.

Our deepest sympathy to the community of Christchurch on hearing the news of the shocking act of terrorism last Friday.  When we are looking for Peace and harmony amongst all peoples worldwide for this to happen so close to home is devastating.

We had a visitor from the Rotary Club of Plimmerton, NZ - Dr Leigh Corner.  It turns out that he is in the same Rotary Club as Pam’s brother.  Now that is a coincidence.  Leigh presented me with a banner from the Club.  A lovely gesture.

Our guest speakers, Adjunct Professor Naomi Dwyer and Dr Lorraine Ferguson from the Sunshine Coast Hospital & Health Service gave the club an update on what has been happening since the new hospital opened and what will be happening in the coming months.

Mark Ward will be having a meeting on 12 April at his home for those interested in travelling to Bohol in October of this year.  Mark has also offered to represent the Club at the Caloundra State High School’s Anzac Day Parade on 23 April.  Thank you Mark.

There are a few of Caloundra’s members attending District Conference in Brisbane this weekend.  Ron and I are looking forward to gleaning as much information from it to report back to you in the coming weeks.  My apologies to you in advance, as I won’t be at Tuesday’s meeting.  We are taking a couple of extra days and staying away.

Next week though will be pretty busy with RYDA set up on Tuesday morning 26 March and then the session on Wednesday 27 March so if anyone can help please let Merv know.  Then there will be a two day session the following week on 1-2-3 April so Merv will need volunteers again for setup on the Monday and then the two program days.

Also the Bunnings BBQ has come around again on 27 March but I think it is all in hand with a full complement of workers.  Thank you to those who have put their names down.

Please promote the Photographic Competition as much as you can.  The closing date has been extended to 3 May.

Chris is forging ahead with the information for the All Abilities Park.  Thank you Chris.

We have a very busy couple of weeks indeed.

So please have a safe and happy week.
