A big thank you once again to our wonderful band of Volunteers who have helped and supported the RYDA program and the Bunnings BBQ over the past 2 weeks.  The weather was not very helpful but you soldiered on.  You are all worth weight in gold.

The 3 days of RYDA have been very successful and the schools that have attended have been very well behaved and interacted with the facilitators very well.
The RYDA program was nominated for the 2nd Annual Fisher Community Awards and won the Category for making a significant contribution to the Community during the year.  Neville and Margaret Woodforth attended the function and Neville was very proud to accept the Award on behalf of the contributing Rotary Clubs and it’s members.
Thank you Neville.

The District 9600 Conference was had some very interesting speakers and some of the sessions were very interesting .  Merv, Judy, Pam, Chloe, Mark, Irish, Ron and I attended. The session that I delivered as MC was “A Rotarian or Rotary Club Identified a Need, Planned and Delivered a Response.

There were 3 Clubs and the Speakers from the Rotary Clubs of Murgon, Toowong and Brisbane High Rise gave the conference an overview of what they had done to help Communities which needed their help and support during the year.

Peace Fellow – Peter Lindsay spoke on adversity and how a life changing episode changed his whole way of approaching life.
PDG John Lane – spoke on Embracing change as we move into redistricting in 2020 – 21.  The new District 9620 combining(9600, 9630 and 9640 and will encompass half of Queensland, Northern New South Wales, Warwick, Toowoomba, Chinchilla, Byron Bay, PNG, Solomons, E Club, Nomads). The is still a lot of work to be done.

Children from the Aspley State School did a presentation on Earlyact – The Albany Creek Rotary is their sponsor.

The Youth Exchange students presentations were inspiring  - I could write pages on  the 3 speakers – their perception on the countries and the families they had spent the 12 months with.

The whole conference was recorded and I have asked for a copy as I would like the Club to see some of the presentations.  They are definitely worth watching.

Please don’t forget that the Club’s Constitution will be the topic on the 16th April.  You can view it on Clubrunner.  So please read through it and if you have any issues with it contact Les or Merv to clarify.

Sending well wishes to Gordon and we hope that you are on the mend, we miss your presence at our meetings.
