We are very excited to announce that Better Together Housing has received some funding from the Queensland Department of Housing and Public Works to improve and expand the work that we have been doing over the last couple of years.

The funding will enable us to upgrade our online platforms to make them more accessible and easy to use, with a number of new functions for members. Included in the upgrade will be a range of tools and guides to assist members to engage with confidence.

We are also expanding Better Together Housing into other regions, with Mackay being the first location identified. We are currently in discussion with key stakeholders in this region to understand what Better Together Housing might look like in Mackay.

Better Together Housing was designed by women for women, and in keeping with that principle we have been working with some current and past participants to understand what has worked, what needed improving, and create a vision for what could be. A big thank you to those who participated in the evaluation process, as the information collected through your stories and feedback has been invaluable in the creation of the new and improved model.

The morning tea ‘Get it Togethers’ have been one of the most popular aspects of Better Together Housing. With the health restrictions in place for most of this year we have been unable to host them, however we have plans for a gathering very soon on the Sunshine Coast with responsible social distancing measures in place, so stay tuned members for more information relating to this.

We are very excited for this next phase of Better Together Housing and have a strong and ambitious vision for the future. We will share more information with you as things progress.
