Easy now

Darryl, fresh from Esk, chaired our meeting in his usual casual style.  He was celebrating 42 years that day of his & Shirley's marriage.  Did you hear him say that he didn't know what he was doing (meeting-wise)?

Bernie skipped Esk in favour of President Elect training.  She shared her views on the District Governor for 2018-19, told us something of Our Foundation, piggy banks and Centurion poles - an easy way to contribute to The Rotary Foundation.

Our newly minted Membership Director (& President Nominee for 2019-20), Chris Rees presented to us on Membership - where we've been and possibilities.  He asked every member to complete and return a survey so if you did not attend the meeting, please download the form or get a copy next week.

Our PDG Alan Still OAM proposed our International Toast to the Rotary Club of Halifax, Canada in his usual memorised style, so he was forgiven for the previous week's stumble!

Rachael was fresh from her marathon run in the Queen's Baton Relay at Noosa the previous day and promised some photos which you can see here - , or later in this newsletter.

Neville reported on the 10 year celebration last Friday of RYDA Road Safety Education in Caloundra - a project that has been proudly supported by this club and for which, Neville is the Chair of the organising committee.  Next hyear will see the 10,000th student benefit from the course.  See the story, media release, and photos later in this newsletter or click here.

Gerry, on the eve of heading to warmer climes and catching up with friends in Darwin, reminded us of BBQ matters given that Bunnings was looking forward to seeing us on the morrow.

Deborah missed chastising Roger, instead telling us of the planned Teddy Bears Picnic in partnership with Oaks.

Mark told us about the new project in Indonesia - watch out for details and the opportunity to volunteer.  This is but one of a number of projects for which we raise funds - they will be detailed in a future edition.

Bernie briefly hinted at her emphasis on youth in 2018-19.

A reminder for members who like coffee or tea or just socialising or talking Rotary, we generally adjourn after our meeting for 'coffee' at Golden Beach.  If you don't know where, ask.  All are welcome!
