Darryl was in the chair last Tuesday morning.  He was barefoot for most of the meeting, complaining that his 'new' thongs made his feet sore.  Yes one outing at the Melbourne Cup lunch is not enough to wear them in, just as one outing in a jalopy is not enough to run a car in.  Perhaps next time the Speight's sandals will be in order!  Our Guest Speaker, Simon Latchford certainly provided a contrast in suit and best black shoes!

PDG Alan Still took us to the Czech Republic for our International Toast to the Rotary Club of Prague International.

James managed to distill his life story to three minutes, a skill we guess has been crafted from long years of practice.  His calling has taken him to many places and Rotary was prominent in all.

President Peter decided to bring various pieces of club business forward as he often misses out on the nitty gritty.  So he caught up on the successful Portuguese Night at Trish & Arnaldo's, and made sure the BBQ was successful last week; it will be this week (now being last week) Gerry assured him.

Helen introduced Simon to talk about Visit Sunshine Coast - a subject of which he is passionate, so much so that he ran out of time.  Our club's promise of an 8am finish was activated.

We still had time for a brief Sergeant's session; Deb was still regaling us as she wound her way to her allotted seat.
