Still feeling the effects of our St Patrick's Day Golf Day, 'Irish Anne' was at the desk, greeting us and fleecing us as we arrived.
Our resident legal egal, Trevor (obviously all the Cruise boats are in port for maintenance), was present to take the position of Chair. Trevor is a little absent minded quite often and confuses Rotary with his work, addressing the crowd as though it was a courtroom. Business and pleasure don't mix, Trev.

144 golfers joined Caloundra Rotary's Charity Golf Day at Pelican Waters Golf Club, including 33 club members. The final result is a little less than the previous year. Funds raised will go to SunnyKids and Caloundra Rotary for Rotary and other causes.
"Stand Easy!" is a command to soldiers standing at ease that they may relax further easy.
Doesn't quite fit the context of our meeting next Tuesday (27 March) but we - intentionally - do not have a speaker booked. Nor is it a "Club Assembly".

To aid the recovery efforts in Papua New Guinea following the loss of life and property due to the Earthquake on 27 February 2018 in the Southern Highlands, our Rotary District 9600 has established an Earthquake Recovery Fund which will accept tax deductible donations.
The Government declared a state of emergency on 2 March for Hela, Southern Highlands, Western and Enga provinces. According to initial estimates, over 544,000 people are affected across the five most affected provinces. Over 270,000 people require immediate humanitarian assistance.
PNG is an important part of our Rotary District and needs our support following this disastrous event. The appeal is open to the public, as well as to clubs and members, to make contributions.

Attend the District Conference 'en masse', and stay for the Saturday Night Dinner. Our meeting on the following Tuesday has been cancelled, so that's another incentive to attend. Enjoy great speakers and the entertainment line-up.
A recent immigrant from England, Chris joined Rotary in November 2017 and had an immediate impact on the club. He was appointed Membership Director for 2017-18 and 2018-19, and will become President on 1 July 2019.
Several Rotarians have expressed interest in becoming involved with RAWCS project volunteering so RAWCS is planning a training session to fully inform interested members about this wonderful program.
