Objective
To provide Medical Supplies/Equipment for new Medical Outreach Centre (recently completed and constructed in a separate project led by the Rotary Club of  Baldwyn).

The Medical Outreach Centre will mainly target two patient groups - the disadvantaged children living at SACH.  Most require ongoing health monitoring, and members of the disadvantaged communities surrounding SACH, in particular infants, children and the elderly.

The centre will focus on the most vulnerable in it's community, the children, pregnant women and the elderly.  Providing health education to patients will also be an important focus.

Project Summary
Bohol is the tenth largest island in the Philippine Peninsula with a total population of 1.3 million, spread across the land area of 3,968 km².  Density within Bohol island is 331.1/km².  Despite its rapidly growing popularity as an international tourist destination, common health concerns in Bohol island are still on the rise.  Most common health issues include hearing, blindness and oral defects. Among children, the rate of malnutrition and respiratory illnesses such as asthma is significantly high. Vision problems are very common in the elderly.

Members of the Rotary clubs of Caloundra, Gladstone Midday and Tagbilaran (Bohol) will be working with Humanitarian Projects International (HPI).

The project has been approved by Caloundra Rotary which is seeking a grant from Rotary District 9600 towards the $5,000 anticipated project cost.

Project implementation
The project is expected to be completed by October 2019.
