The Rotary Club of Chicago Chicago was the first Rotary Club in the world, founded  23 Feb 1905, it has over 200 members.  It has four regular meetings a month including luncheon speakers, Rotary After Work tours, social / networking lunches and after hours gatherings, hands on service projects and special events.  Click here for all the details.

  • Weekly Meetings
    ROTARY/One has four regular meetings a month. Rotary hosts a variety of meetings and events monthly.  Luncheon speakers, Rotary After Work tours, social / networking lunches and after hours gatherings, hands on service projects and special events.

    Nearly every Friday, members meet at the Union League Club Carvery Restaurant for a social, informal gathering.
Once a year the club seeks members support for its service projects through the annual campaign.  This year's goal is $75,000.  Please review the pledge card and consider giving generously.  Members can complete the form and email or mail to the office or bring to the club luncheon.  Donations can be made online.  This is needed to support their Rotary/One Foundation which has $3.35 million
 
The ROTARY/One Foundation, Inc. is the foundation of the Rotary Club of Chicago. The mission of the ROTARY/One Foundation is to secure the resources necessary to support the Service Mission of the Rotary Club of Chicago. with assets of $3.55 million.
 
Since its inception, the Foundation has given over six million dollars to support service projects of the Rotary Club of Chicago, who have primarily focused on youth, including:
  • rehabilitation services for children with physical disabilities;
  • scholarships for students attending Chicago area colleges and universities;
  • employment opportunities for Chicago high school students;
  • eradication of polio; 
  • clean water in Haiti; and,
  • life-saving or life-altering surgery for children with congenital abnormalities.
JOB1
As the signature program for ROTARY/One, JOB1 prepares City of Chicago High School 11th grade and graduating seniors, who are sixteen and over, for the workplace by providing  job readiness training, as well as, substantive paid summer internship opportunities with local business’ and not for profits in the Chicago.

Qualified Students:
  • Participate in extra-curricular programs (such as Chicago Public Schools’ Education to Careers).       
  • Are recommended by teachers and/or guidance counselors.     
  • Must attend 3 job training programs sponsored by the Rotary Club of Chicago.      
  • Attend Job Fair sponsored by Rotary  Club of Chicago.
  • ​Participate in a volunteer service project.
Benefits: 
  • An eight week internship/Job with a minimum wage of $13.00 per hour and a 20-40 hour workweek. 
  • Assignment to a Chicago company or not for profit organization.
  • Opportunity to participate in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards annual training.
