RDUONE
United for Good
Two years ago, the Rotary Down Under team set itself an ambitious goal... to do things better. How could we engage more purposefully with our readers? How could we share Rotary's stories of doing good on a grander
scale? In the background, over many, many, many months, RDU Board members, Council members, staff, Rotarians and external professionals came
together to workshop possibilities. What did our readers want? How could we expand our reach? How could we inspire greater connections that would catapult Rotary's legacy of
service beyond borders. Vwvzzzilitttt (that's the noise for rewind, you know... let's take it back a step or two)... obviously Rotary's service is already well and truly beyond borders and has been for more than 100 years. But the point was unity...
connection... oneness. One. RDU.ONE. Connection is at the very core of our being. We are inherently social creatures, wired for physical and emotional connection from birth. Our relationships with family, friends, communities and even strangers are fundamental to our emotional wellbeing, physical health and sense of purpose. Meaningful connections foster empathy, resilience and cooperation, shaping how we experience the world and ourselves. From shared stories and mutual support to collaboration and cultural exchange, human connection is the thread that binds societies together, enabling
growth, innovation and peace. From a Rotary perspective, this year's message of Unite for Good calls on Rotarians across the globe to come together to amplify their efforts and create lasting change. By uniting for a common purpose, we harness collective wisdom, resources and strength, demonstrating that connection is not just a cornerstone of Rotary; it's the catalyst for doing good on a
global scale. It is with this vision of unity in mind that, with extreme pride, we present the culmination of RDU.ONE... Your Rotary, Your Way. Connected across all
platforms - social, digital, web and print - and across the globe. Ffffffinitttt (that's fast forward)... it is therefore a no-brainer that the theme for our very first edition of Rotary Down Under under the RDU.ONE banner is 'Partnerships and Collaborations'. We are so excited to share these
powerful stories of connection with you all.
