Hi Noel

Judy introduced our National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) Student Sophie. She is the grand daughter of Kath and Ian and goes to Pacific Lutheran School
Sophie wants to move towards the medical area and she enjoys sport and travel
NYSF was a bit different this year as it was cut short due to the bushfires
They flew to Sydney then to Canberra by bus, including through burnt landscapes
Questacom was indoors only, and the 12:00 midnight fire alarm will remain a memory
Highlights were the super computer and lightning inside the science museum
and of course the friendships and contacts made
The experience has enabled Sophie to "come out of her shell"
Gerry thanked Sophie for for the talk
Mark gave us three minutes on the Rotary Conference and our new International President Holger Knaack

From Ron & Bernie
Hi Roger, just thought this might be some news for the Reel.
We caught up with Derek and Emma Hicks and their 3 boys Lachlan, Fin and Charlie in Mareeba today. They have been living here for some years now. Derek is a Plain Clothes Police Officer at Mareeba and Emma is a full time Mum and studying Psychology.
A really beautiful family and they were asking how everyone were in the club.

Here is a photo.
Roger features in the last paper Caloundra Weekly - they should have told me to straighten my shirt
