Merv had his first chemotherapy and radiation yesterday on Monday. James spoke to him around 5pm Monday and Merv said it all went well for the first day.James attended the President's meeting with the District Governor on Friday 31st July via Zoom.The main items discussed were:-

Clubs to consider a contribution Tim Keller spoke about getting behind sales of the raffle tickets he gets for the District Conference in Kingaroy in 20'21. The raffle proceeds are for Youth Mental Health Issues and Youth suicide

Richard Brooking is local to the Sunshine Coast living on Buderim. Having philanthropic and charitable members in his family, he is the director of Beulah Community a charity founded by his grandmother. Its’ flagship property is located on Buderim consisting of a community centre and 24HA of nature refuge down Lindsay Rd to Harry’s. It also owns various assets between Sunshine Coast and Noosa that houses first nations people, provides business opportunities for them and conducts revegetation projects.
Richard is in his last semester of a Masters of Business in Philanthropy and Non-profits at Queensland University of Technology. He is currently working on a project with Queensland Corrections and the university to discuss innovative ideas on how to stop reoffending in the community. Engagement with various stakeholders has just started and the recommendations will be presented to the senior executives of Queensland Corrections at the end of the year.
