No Chair today – instead, Sergeant Ian introduced our tour bus driver – Darryl

Darryl quickly ask for a vaccination check and we when we’re all clear, he introduced guests, Clive, who will be more formally introduce later, and Bob.

Thanks Dave for the photos

Our guest speaker on Tuesday 26th will be The Hon. Andrew Wallace MP member for Fisher and Speaker of the House

James delivered the Presidents report

  • First, a thank you to Deborah for delivering last weeks report, as James was visiting family in Port Macquarie, including Coco the dog, which must have been important cause I wrote it down.
  • James spoke to Merv on Saturday – he is feeling well, but visited multiple doctors last week. He’ll have radiation therapy in about two weeks time.
  • Mark Ward is away for the next three weeks, and with him, Keith reported, “is all the club’s money”
  • How why DA, or RYDA as it’s called in non dictation software land - President Greig from Cal-Pac delivered an action agenda at the last meeting. Day managers are ready to roll. R C Caloundra. volunteers are needed to set up and pull down. Pam is stepping down from the catering role – we need somebody to step in. There is a need for some computer skills
  • Good to see shelter boxes deployed in the Ukraine.
  • There will be an Anzac Day tribute at our next meeting.
  • This is world immunisation week, with a global polio push. It is estimated that 20 million children have been saved from the effects of polio.  Our contributions are matched 2 to 1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
  • District Assembly – DG Tony long is looking to arrange bus to travel to Jindalee.
The international Toast was to the Rotary Club of Jerusalem. They are an English speaking multi fight club established in 1929. Out of 60 clubs in Israel they are the only English speaking. They are part of District 2490.

I’m not sure if these offerings from James were jokes, or thoughts for the day

One from Charles de Gaulle French General and politician – I have come to the conclusion that politics is too serious about her to be left to politicians

Variously attributed to Will Rogers and George Bernard Shaw – The problem with political jokes is they get elected

Aesop, Greek slave and and fable author – We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office.

And the actual thought for the day - around Easter and death from George Bernard Shaw – "I want to be all used up when I die"

“where is the blurb?“ says Richard as he introduces Clive, and proceeds to make it up on the spot

This is the actual bio:: I have been involved in Photography for over 60 years, a 5 year period professionally, then saw the light and pursued other commercial  interests, but kept on with photography as a hobby. I am at present the Vice President of Caloundra Camera Group. My passion is Creative Photographic Art, on this I have built my presentation.
Clive normally talks to camera clubs about how to creatively shoot and post process, – however this talk is more a show and tell. His family has had 100 years in photography.

There were two sections to his presentation;
shots from the camera,

and images which have been photo-shopped

James thanked Clive for his presentation

There were no directors report, but Darryl gave an update on travel

Sergeant Ian went on his usual rampage
