Presidents Report
- 24th of August is the Combined Dinner - no need to re-register but you can always buy more raffle tickets online – Pam will represent the Rotary Club of Caloundra at the Board Meeting
- Ithica Lifesaving Club Grey Medallion course
- Looking for money making ideas – ethics? The Multiple sclerosis Society has a big raffle With $400,000 in prizes – only 8000 tickets are sold – Like a donation to a good cause but also an opportunity for the club to score. We could do a lot of good with that money
Deborah - RYDA – Monday 18th of July for setup 1 o’clock - Deborah and Robyn are “feeding people"
Stuart introduced Deborah -
well known Marriage Celebrant and two time Past President of our Club PPx2
Deborah Taylor VP PP PP PHF speaking on Rotary acronyms
And also a bit of Rotary etiquette with DGs PDGs, etc are introduced before any politicians in the room
Deborah‘s hand out on Youth Programs is the first baby steps of proficiency in Rotary acronyms and yes, Dave you will be tested - I see at the bottom of the image that it is a confidential Rotary document - we don’t want the general public finding out our secret acronyms
Bob asked about MUNA which is the Model United Nations Assembly, and what about Genta’s membership of the IFFR are and of course there’s the IFGR
And of course Inner Wheel, for which Roger correctly noted that acronyms were deemed redundant for only two letters, and that TLAs and FLAs formed more secure codes - that’s Three Letter Acronyms, Four Letter Acronyms and even Five Letter Acronyms
Inner Wheels birthing kits and their use in Papua New Guinea were discussed
Shelter boxes cost $1000 each
Stewart thank Deborah for the talk
