Hello everyone,
Firstly, thank you to all of you that attended the breakfast, engaged with like-minded community members, voiced your responses in a manner that was respectful, honest & with the immediate & long-term future in mind.
In my opinion, the breakfast was a resounding success with the amount of information that was obtained & having reviewed it all I’ve placed the main topics of content into the above attachment.
I will be working towards the delivery of programs to address concerns raised, community & youth engagement to engage volunteers & stakeholders to ensure long term sustainability of the programs that have been suggested.
At this early stage, I can confirm that PCYC Qld & QPS are already providing programs in the following spaces….
Braking the Cycle (Learning to drive & assistance with 100 supervised hours, Free program), volunteer mentors required
Leadership & Development with the Duke of Edinburgh program (paused at this stage whilst a review is undertaken)
Boxing & Fitness programs within schools & will take place in the new facility
Number of social Drop-In programs within the community to engage local youth (Wednesday, Thursday & every other Friday)
What we’re currently not delivering & will look to commence once the facility is open….
Boys’ life skills program,
Girls’ life skills program,
After Dark programs, specific times, days & activities will be decided once the facility is complete & an assessment of space can be determined… youth will be a voice in the delivery selection
Active Youth group
Another point that was raised was the implementation of a directory of the local services available to schools, parents & community.
I’m no expert however I’m willing to take a 50-word summary from you &/or your service to create a simple ‘go to’ for those present.
For example.
PCYC Caloundra South is a youth-based organisation providing several activities & programs within & external to the facility including but not limited to….
Gymnastics, Fitness Centre, Drop In, After Dark activities, school & community-based programs, learner driver program (BTC).

Again, thank you so much for your engagement & i look forward to working with you soon.
Please feel free to contact me at any time.
