About Alan Still & Rotary

Alan became a Rotarian in 1970 when he joined the Rotary Club of Darwin.
 
Subsequently he moved to the Rotary clubs of Rockhampton, Burleigh Heads (1 February 1983), and Caloundra from 7 July 2015.  He remains an Honorary member of the Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads.
 
He was President of the Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads on two occasions, 1985-86 and 1997-98.
 
Alan became Governor of Rotary District 9640 for the 1989-90 Rotary year.
 
History was made on 9 May 1990 when DG Alan Still chartered the Rotary Club of Ashmore as the first club in District 9640 to admit women members.  It was chartered with 28 members and today maintains a membership of around 46 (in 2017).

Awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queen's Birthday 2007 Honours List​ for service to the community through Rotary International as a provider of sponsorship for the education of children in Indonesia
 
 
Past District Governor, Alan Still OAM was presented with a Royce Abbey Award at a ceremony held at the Rotary Club of Caloundra's meeting held on Tuesday morning 31 October 2017.
