Georgia, a country at the intersection of Europe and Asia, is a former Soviet republic that’s home to Caucasus Mountain villages and Black Sea beaches. Georgia requires donor assistance in order to maintain the current success and mitigate immediate and long-term consequences of the COVID-19 threat to its national health system. A Rotary Foundation Global Grant focused on Fighting Disease can be a vital resource in Georgia’s courageous struggle.
Our club has applied for the First Georgian Global Grant GG2012901 with limited resources. We are hoping that your club may be our international partner. We are trying to fund $ 5000 that is labeled in our club name.
We know that the Rotary Year 2019/2020 is ending, and perhaps your club’s budget has been depleted but this grant will be proceeded next Rotary year 2020/2021. So any payment will be done after July st. Any contributions in any amount will be highly appreciated.
It has been announced that the global grant program has been very successful and has grown at an incredible pace since its launch in 2013. This growth, however, means that we expect the demand for global grants to dramatically exceed the capacity of the World Fund.
Because of this, the Trustees of The Rotary Foundation have decided that World Fund resources will be used to match only District Designated Fund (DDF) contributions. This match will remain at 100 percent. The match on cash contributions to grants will be eliminated, effective 1 July 2020. Global grant applications that have been submitted but not yet approved on 1 July will still receive the World Fund match for cash contributions. So, it's now where your funds can be matched with 50%, but as of July 1st.. it will not be matched at all. So we are submitting this grant this week in hope we can fundraise this amount and not to loose the World Fund share to club's of 50% payments to cash from clubs
