Dear Rotary Friends,
On behalf of everyone at DV Safe Phone, thank you for the incredible support you continue to show our charity. Your kindness, action, and commitment are helping us put lifelines into the hands of those who need them most.
With 2.2 million known victims of domestic and family violence in Australia, the scale of this national crisis is undeniable. But so too is the power of connection - of unity - to make a difference. That’s why your support means so much!
Together, we’ve supported 14,169 lives with a Safe Phone - a simple, often life-saving tool that reconnects victims with emergency services, frontline support, and their freedom.
One of those lives belongs to a mother of two, who had her phone smashed by her abuser and was left completely cut off. Thanks to a DV Safe Phone gifted through one of our agency partners, she was able to safely reach support, flee, and rebuild. She credits her new phone as “the moment everything changed.”
This is what Rotary helps us to make possible.

Rotary in Action: A Snapshot
Across Australia, Rotary clubs are stepping up with creativity, purpose, and compassion.

Rotary Club of Northbridge elevated their annual Food Drive by collecting 22 unwanted phones for us - distributing flyers to 3,000 households and promoting the appeal to more than 3,500 attendees at their community event.

300 changemakers. 1 powerful weekend. Countless ripple effects.
Rotary District 9660 Conference 2025 reminded us what’s possible when passionate people unite to connect, learn, and lead change together.

Thanks to the inspiring efforts of the Woolgoolga Rotary Club and Coffs City Rotary Club, in a powerful community partnership where local Coffs Harbour hotels have partnered with us to install mobile phone collection boxes across four venues: Sawtell Hotel, Toormina Hotel, Moonee Tavern and Coffs Harbour Hotel.

From our team of volunteers to yours - thank you!

From Woolgoolga to Ballina, Torquay to Caloundra and around Australia you’ve helped place hundreds of collection boxes in communities. You’ve supported grants, coordinated events, and brought DV Safe Phone into the heart of Rotary’s mission to serve others.
Unite for Good: What You Can Do Next
There are many ways Rotary clubs can continue to support survivors and help us scale our impact:
  • Host a phone drive in your local community
  • Nominate DV Safe Phone for a grant round
  • Fundraise with a BBQ, car show, raffle or event
  • Introduce us to a local business or council contact
  • Invite us to speak at your next meeting – via zoom or teams
Together, we are more than a service organisation—we are a movement for safety, dignity, and change.
A Quick Note on Giving
While Rotary clubs are making a powerful impact, some members choose to give personally as well. While donated phones are vital, funding ensures each device becomes a fully functional, secure lifeline when it’s needed most. A small monthly donation helps us ensure safe phones are always available when needed most. If this feels like something you’d like to explore, you can read more [here].
Thank you once again for your generosity, for connecting us with your networks, and your belief in what we do. We simply could not do it without you.
Please feel free to reach out if you’d like to chat about how we can work together in 2025 and beyond.
Warm regards,
Nikki Firmin
