  • Partners Irish & her bestie Shane
  • Visiting Rotarian Ken McMeekan RC Morwell & former Rotarian Anna
  • Gordon's guest Michelle from PW Golf Club
Gerry provided the international toast to Rotary Club of Kampala, Ugunda.  Members questioned his population count but Gerry assured us of its accuracy.

  • TRF have revised their 5 areas of focus to now include projects to protect the environment and some name changes to other focus areas.
  • Photo Competition awards last Thursday was a most successful event and thanks to the members who attended and there was lots of enthusiasm form the participants.  Seems we may have a new sponsor next year's competition and while not a great fund raiser the event was great PR.
  • World Polio Day walk to be on 27 October from Centaur Park to Power Boat Club and looking to raise funds from participants.
  • Busy week ahead with RYDA and Bunnings BBQ.
  • Upcoming speaker on 6 August will talk on End Trachoma by 2020: https://www.endtrachoma2020.org.au/
  • Chris & Deb will setup a booth at Little Mountain Seniors Health & Lifestyle Expo at Meridan College on 2 August

Strategic Plan RI
Rotary International has updated its strategic plan and there is a great two-sided flyer which has RI's core values on one side as well as our vision statement and updated strategic priorities on the other.  It's a useful summary of where we are at and where we are going as an organisation for our members, potential members and our communities.

August is Membership Month
August is Membership and New Club Development Month, which means it’s time to celebrate our Rotary club, our members, and the good this club does in our community and around the world.

What some may not know is that the Rotary Australia website puts a wealth of Membership Development information at our fingertips.  Try this, for a start.  If you follow the link you will have 10 publications and a lot of useful ideas.

What does Rotary mean to you?  Rotary members have pushed polio to the brink of eradication, delivered clean water to those in need, improved their local communities, provided scholarships to the next generation of peacemakers, and continued to do good in the world.
