Dear Wendy

CC Trudy, Angela

Thank you very much for sending through the proto-type of the Centennial monument for the Sunshine Coast. It is a wonderful to see Rotary being celebrated by the South cluster in this way.

We appreciate you reaching out to us to make sure that your design is compliant and that any other procedures and protocols are met.

I am copying in my colleague Trudy who is the branding expert and can let you know if the design is compliant and if there is anything else that you need to do from our point of view. Thanks Trudy in advance.

I am also copying in my colleague Angela, who is our Communications expert. She may be able to help you get some coverage from local press for your centennial celebrations including the launch of the monument and the gala dinner. Thanks in advance Angela for advising Wendy.

Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist with.

Kind regards

Barbara

Dear Barbara,

On behalf of the Sunshine South Cluster Centenary Committee of District 9600 we are contacting you with respect to the Proposal of a Centennial Monument which will be constructed on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
In association with a Centennial Gala Dinner a proposal has been forwarded to construct and place the Monument in a location central to our Cluster Rotary Clubs.
The Monument is constructed using the following primary components, the concrete foundation plinth and twenty four steel tendrils which emerge from the plinth.
The foundation plinth which represents Rotary International will contain a Rotary International Wheel (isolated and in traditional form) and three Dedication panels in its vertical face. The Dedication panels will refer to firstly Rotary International - its History and Objectives, secondly the roll & achievements of the Rotary Clubs of the Sunshine Coast and thirdly to the late Sir Clem Renouf, former RI World President and his role in PolioPlus.
The twenty four tendrils represent the current nineteen chartered Clubs, one de-chartered Club and Rotary affiliates eg Probus, Rotaract etc. Each tendril will be engraved with the name of a Rotary Club or an affiliate/s.
Refer attached images.
Our Cluster Committee’s enquiry relates to the procedures and/or protocols which Rotary International may require and to make sure that our design conforms to these requirements.
Please note that an application has been lodged into the Sunshine Coast Council indicating the preferred location/s and specifications of the Monument’s structure.

Kind Regards

Wendy Gilson
