Our last meeting
President Elect James is excited for us all to embrace this theme:
It's up to me!

Our Club Assembly

Club assemblies offer an opportunity to exchange ideas and share information about issues that are important to our members. Most clubs hold four to six assemblies a year.

All members are encouraged to attend, especially new members.  This assembly attracted 18 or about 55% of our members,

James reminded us of one of  Rotary's Guiding Principles:

The Object of Rotary

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
  • FIRST: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
  • SECOND: High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
  • THIRD: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life;
  • FOURTH: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
Highlighting two aspects - Service & Recognition - James asked us to ponder the question:  Why are you in Rotary?

Membership will be a focus in 2020-21

Rotary Opens Opportunities in 2020-21
"Rotary has to change and will change. And even if some fellow Rotarians will complain that it does not look like their old Rotary, we have to change. As Paul Harris said, we have to be revolutionary from time to time. And now is the time to be revolutionary. One way that we will do this is by creating new club models and rethinking what it means to be in Rotary. Young people should be the architects of these new clubs."

Public Image newsletter

With the focus squarely on the bushfires in recent weeks, it’s been easy to forget about the plight of our farmers who are still suffering from years of devastating droughts. Unfortunately, rains over the last week, although very welcome, have done little to ease conditions on the land. We are extremely grateful to Bendigo Bank who are promoting Rotary across their 520 branches along with our drought appeal. Please support our farmers, visit a Bendigo Bank branch, and make a donation.
